May Day Baskets

This is just a reminder to everyone that tomorrow is the First Day of May, or May Day. As a child every year on May 1, my mother would help us gather flowers from the yard, then we would make bouquets and deliver them around to the neighbors, my grandmother and my aunts. She would help us wrap them with ribbons and fix them so that they would not dry out. Delivering the colorful bouquets always seemed to mark spring and the beginning of warmer days. We would wrap our flowers in paper cones but a small basket would be cute to. Think about it is there anyone that you would like to give a touch of spring to? Happy May Day! I remember May day baskets and making them as a litlte girl. Do you remember doing the May Pole Dance at school? It was so exciting being picked a few weeks before May 1st to learn the dance! I will always remember the few years I was chosen! Great memories!
